ANA ROMERO

Born in Spain, Daimiel (La-Mancha), Ana studied Bachelor in Music (Hons) at the Royal Conservatoire of Madrid and Masters in Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, with MBE Nigel Boddice as her main mentor.

 

Ana has participated in Viena and Berlin International Brass Competitions Viena, obtaining a special mention in the second one. She was a finalist for the Governors Prize and got Highly Commended at David James Brass Prize. For two years she was Conductor of the Band King’s Park Brass in Glasgow.

Her profesional experience includes having played as part of orchestras  and ensembles like the RTVe (Madrid), the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra RSNO, the BBC Scottish Shymphony Orchestra, the Scottish Opera, the Manchester Camerata and the Pro Youth Philarmonia (UK Tours). She also got a two years contract with the Orchestra Academia China in Beijing before the pandemic.

She has performed as a soloist and in different countries as part of International Festivals: Germany (Brass Sahuerland-Herbst International Festival), Malta (Victoria Arts International Festival), Norway (Nord Odal and Oslo), México (11th International Festival Vientos de la Montaña), Chile (University Católica) and the UK (Cantilena Festival), where she currently lives. In Scotland she has played as a soloist with the Glasgow Sinfonia,  the Highland Orchestra, the Royal Regiment of Scotland in Edinburgh, and soon with the Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra.
